Will the Spec Aluminum flywheel for the 5.0 work on a 96 engine? I see that the description says it fits 79-95, but I don't know what the difference is between 95 and 96.

A 96 engine from what application? Mustangs went to the 4.6 in 96, hence the year range for that particular part. If it's from some other vehicle, let me know what it is and I'll look it up.

Oh sorry about that, I just thought it was referring to the engine only. It is a 302 out of a 96 Ford Explorer. The engine is in a Ford ranger with a T5 behind it.

That should use a 164 tooth flywheel and 50oz imbalance. Mustang is 157 tooth. I can't find any indication that SPEC offers a 164 tooth option.

Sorry it took so long to get back. I am ready to order the stage 3+ clutch and aluminum flywheel, but I need to know which two match each other. The flywheel, clutch, and the T5 tranny are out of a 93 5.0 mustang. I know the flywheel is 157 tooth 50oz.

Thanks, I placed my order for the flywheel, but I have to wait to hear back from my father before I place my order for the clutch. I am ordering this for him and he wants to use two different cards for each item.

OK, no problem. I'll wait to submit the flywheel until the clutch is ordered (so they can ship in the same box) unless you prefer otherwise.

We Received the parts Wednesday. The clutch and flywheel are now installed. It has a much smoother engagement than I anticipated and it revs noticably quicker in neutral now; my dad is happy!
