Well i just swapped my T5 for my C5 and all i can say is wow i wish i did it sooner. It is way way faster than the T5 even speed shifting just as i thought it would be. I wanted to say alan at dirty dog performance did the converter and man it is awesome, stalls just like he said pulling out from stops and works great. I highly recomend his converters! Can't wait to get it back to the track and get some decent ET now and i feel it will pick up trap speed as well.

Does that mean you had issues with it? Or did it work well?

it just did'nt work well.a few friends were running them as well with poor results.2 gt's,a mach1,and an 03 cobra with a 4r70w swap.his c4 converters may be better as these were all 4r70w's.2 of us now have pi stallion's and i can say it has been the best money i've ever spent.

What all is done to the C5? and did you make any passes with a T5 to get a back to back comparison?

The C5 was built by my friend and was machined for another clutch plate , Ati FULL MANUAL VALVE BODY and just a normal rebuild. I ran it saturday and the converter is way loose and i'm getting 25% slippage. It went .5 quicker in the 60' and .6 to half track but just slips and kills the rest. I put a pinto converter in and it works great, shooting for 11.99-12.20 @ 110-113mph.
It went 12.92 @ 112mph with the T5 and 12.82 @ 104 with 25% slippage. Sholud be easy to inprove next track outing.

oook hold up. Your 60 foot time was .5 seconds faster with a C5 than a T5? What was the 60 foot time?

Yes that's correct the 60' sucked at 2.2 with the T5 and went 1.72 without even unhooking the swaybar with the auto with no practice yet, should go 1.6ish I only made a few passes as i didn't want to burn things up. The T5 would just boil the tires in first spin into second a little and spin very little in third. The car has 275-50-15 mickey drag radials all stock suspension daily driver not a drag car.

All stock suspension was my "perfect" setup for a few year. Im sure someone will verify that it was probably the fact surrounding the drag radials more than the trans swap. If you tried it, slicks for slicks the T5 would have been quicker. Are you saying 1.72 60' was with lose converter or pinto converter?

That was with the crappy conveter, the pinto footbrakes even better. Yes the drag radials were the problem but now i don't need $400.0-500.00 of slicks and wheels to do what my street tires do and it is not pounding the car to death to get the car down the track. Plus at that level i'm just asking for clutch issues and didn't want to dump money in clutch swaps and all that crap.
