Well I have been wanting to do this swap for quite a while now but my 96 GT took up most of my time and money. Well it has been sold I I have freed up garage space and money to get ready for the swap. I just want to start off with the basics (a little added from stock form but keeping it simple). I have been doing a lot of reading and believe I have or almost have what I need to at least get the thing running. So far I have: 1992 Mustang Hatchback (transplant car) Complete Engine from 1988 TC La3 Computer 88 TC Wiring Harness Large VAM Volvo Front Mount Intercooler (I believe this is the right one for Stingers FMIC Piping) Complete transmission from 88TC, Flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, bellhousing. Things being purchased soon: Stinger's FMIC Piping for Volvo intercooler assuming I have the right intercooler. Ranger Radiator Electric Fan Ported Lower Intake Gutted Upper Intake Gillis Boost Valve Is this all that I need to at least get the thing driving. I plan on doing more later on as more money comes in. I guess I will need some gauges maybe boost, A/F Ratio, any others? Would like to do a Boport 1.5 cam, larger turbo (T3 or T3/T4 Hybrid), either Quarter Horse or Wilson Racing's Megasquirt kit eventually. I am still new to the turbo world let alone tuning so I am still reading lots to see which is best for me. I know most of this has been answered in other threads, I just want to make sure that I have them all compiled right to get it started at least. My final goal is for around 300rwhp but to be attained over a period of time.

Aside from rewiring your 92 harness (since you can't use the complete TC harness without a big mess), it looks like you've got everything except for a high pressure 255lph Walbro fuel pump (genuine, not chinese copy...should be $88+)

And if you want everything to hook up use the Mustang 2.3 NA upper and lower intake along with the modified Mustang 2.3 wire harness.

Well looks like I will need to add the fuel pump to the list. I also think I am going to need a lot of luck as I have not taken on an automotive project this large. Thanks folks. I am sure I will have more questions along the way.

Matt Culpepper on this forum can repin your harness for you if you don't think you can handle it.

Is it possible to use a 2.3 Mustang Transmission?? I know it won't last very long but can it be used just to get the thing driving for a little while?

Yes. They are the same (virtually) as the turbo trans. The 5 speed manual doesn't have any issues with the turbo engine. The auto is weak (as are the turbo versions) but will live behind a stockish engine for quite some time.

Glad to hear about the tranny. I can put the money towards other things for tye time being. Any modifications needed for it to work with the TC motor?

A 2.3 is a 2.3. I'd suggest running the larger turbo flywheel/clutch package though.

just happen to have that stuff from a TC laying in the garage. I was supposed to get a whole tranny but the fella quit responding to my emails to give him some cash.

88 TC bellhousing is hydraulic not cable, so unless you have the TC pedal assembly and firewall gromet/master cylinder mount. you need to find a mustang 2.3 bellhousing to use the cable set up
