1988 ford mustang 302 bored .60 over with E cam, originally SD car, tried for months, took it to two different tuners and could never get the car to idle well and run consistently so switched it to MAF, now can't get the pimp to work with the maf system correctly. Car will idle but I was under the impression the computer should be doing most of the thinking for me with the maf sensor installed. Bought the self-learning for the pimp and it is reading off of the map which isn't hooked up. any suggestions?

Almost no one runs a MAF. There is setup involved, and certainly none of our base files assume MAF.
Out of thousands of customers, we have had only two run MAF to our knowledge.
If there is any issue running speed density, there is an issue with the car, or no one working on it actually understands EFI.
Start with posting in the PiMPxs section of this support forum. Describe combo (ignition system, what wiring is in place, cam, displacement, specific injectors) and what has actually been a problem, and your tune and a datalog of it running under the conditions you're having problems with.

it is reading off of the map which isn't hooked up. any suggestions? which map is not hooked up? I believe you ditch the stock ford unit and only run the MAP in the pimp. IF thats not hooked up that is a serious issue. Like stated NOBODY runs a MAF |
