So, I'm driving along in my stock 87 TC in 5th gear and somebody slows down in front of me. I put the clutch in to shift into 4th and it won't go. Tried pumping the pedal and still nothing. Pulled off to the side of the road, pumped up the clutch and managed to get it to shift into first and then all the way back up to 5th. Got to a town, pulled up to a stop sign and couldn't get it back into first, tried for a half hour, and ended up having the car towed home.
Now, I have replaced both the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder (tried the slave first) and bled the system correctly (I read the suggestions on doing so from a previous post) after each, and neither fixed the problem. The clutch pedal has good pressure, but I still cannot shift into any gear at all (with the engine running). With the engine not running it is just difficult to shift into gears, and still will not shift into reverse at all. I'm about to drop the transmission and take a look, but before I do, does anyone have any good suggestions / diagnosis? Thanks in advance.
p.s. The transmission never slipped out of gear at all, just stopped going into gear.

If it acts weird and struggles to go in gear when the engine is off, you've got to suspect something inside the trans.

I fixed it and forgot to post back, it was the pilot bearing. Took the pressure plate off and all the needles from the bearing fell out on me. Went ahead and bought a clutch kit and replaced the whole mess and she shifts great.
