CAS Pull up resistor?

I’ve purchased an SP CAS for the SVO to replace a vaned wheel (24-1) that I was attempting to use with the stock hall sensor. It didn’t work. I already iadded a pull up resistor to the stock wiring harness to replace the one internal to the TFI module (without which the stock hall voltage would never come up to 12v). I’ve already verified that your hall sensor doesn’t need this resistor, but my question is this: Must I remove it?

Part of this depends on the ECU it's being used with as that circuit may or may not have an integrated resistor for this purpose. What ECU are you connecting the CAS to?

It’s an MS3PNP. Since it was switching fine on the bench test, I cut the resistor out. It’s all good now. Thnx,
