What kind of numbers can i see from this combo i thinking in my head
Car: 85 SVO Mustang Engine: 88 Turbo coupe Turbo: HX35 at 25psi Injectors: Stinger 75lb ECU: stand alone or megasquirt Exhuast: Stinger center mount header with external wastegate, 3" downpipe with Flowmaster super 44 and side exhuast Heads: Esslinger head with Boport stage 4 port and polish and complete top end kit (Boport cam, valves, springs, rollers) Rear end: Moser M9 Ford 9" rear end with Eaton posi and Ford Racing 3.73 gears Trans: either Cobra T56 or PA C4 trans.
If anyone would like to add anything please do. I am trying to make it into the 10s with this SVO, and i am new to the 4 cylinder and non OBDII systems. Currently i have a 2006 Mustang GT so i am used to those but i want the strength and power of the 4 cylinder

Should make somewhere around 400-450rwhp. Of course this depends partially on which Esslinger head you are referring to and which boport cam.
Things I would note: The 9" rear seems like an odd choice since an 8.8" will "bolt in" and there are plenty of cheap parts available to make them handle the power (all you really need is 31 spline axles).

Moser makes their M9 "bolt in" for the fox body and new S197 (05-09) mustangs but true i could find an 8.8 anywhere. The cam would be a stage 3 cam. The cylinder head i would have to call esslinger since they are not posting their cylinder heads on their website anymore.

I think for what i want i would end up going with the SVO head.

It's not cheap and certainly not needed to go tens but it is a badass head. With that head I'll recant my previous estimate and change it to 450-500hp. The turbo and injectors will be the limiting factor at that point.

Basicly look at my setup and add an Esslinger aluminum D-port Head Ported Stage 3 + Stage 3 Cam. Sould be good for 10's I think.

What is your set up and does anyone know what exactly john blair's set up is. One question i have is after reading the Esslinger catalog would i be better with the SVO head or a Boport cast iron Stage 3 head with roller cam kit. What Turbo and Injectors would you guys recommend for 400-600 hp. I really want this thing to be a track monster but at the same time i want to keep it street legal (which in Texas means i do not want to trailer the car to the track i want to be able to drive in and drive home). Down here in south texas a 4 cylinder mustang running any lower than a 15 is unheard of. Well any 4 cylinder unless an import running less than a 15 is unheard of.

My set up is in proven combos. Also I live in south Texas and run at the Edinburg track. 1 of the only 2 Mustang 2.3L that run strong in our area. Hit me up and I'll take you for a spin.

Awesome i do too, but with the GT, i ran a 13.7 stock and on street tires, i am hopeing to beat that with the 4 cylinder. But i need to know what is the best setup so i can start working on the engine before it goes on the car. I just plan to keep it on the engine stand and slowly build it up till it is ready to go into the mustang.

Hoping to beat a 13.7? That only takes about 230hp.
Also, there is a HUGE difference between 400hp and 600hp as far as mods, injectors, turbo, money, etc. You need to decide what you want to do for sure.
Jon Blair was making over 700hp at the wheels to run the times he was. He had a tall deck block, ARCA head, huge turbo, etc.
As for what would be "better" the esslinger svo head or a ported iron, the SVO head will outperform any ported iron head. It will also cost about twice as much.

Well now Boport is selling an awesome aluminum stage 3 head with a stage 3 top end kit. I am planning on that and some higher number injectors. My tuner said he can work with an eMS-Pro so i am going with that for an ECM. and i have set my goal at 10s, i do not care if it is 10.99 as long as it is 10s. then i will stop.

I know i am going to have fun, i mean there is alot of chevy guys talking about their LS1's and how powerful but thats easy, making a 4 cylinder fast is alot more challenging and fun
