Hi,
I'm just getting started on the research of what to fix/repair on the wiring for my 84 Capri RS Turbo. I see a lot of people are running aftermarket fans with relays and standalone fan controllers. Some are using temperature sensors with the controller that keep the fan running after the car is turned off.
How would the PIMP fan control work with an aftermarket fan? I'm assuming I'd still need the relay since the PIMP uses the factory harness. But does it replace the standalone controller and temperature sensor? Would it be able to control the fan ones the engine is off?
Thanks,
Chris

Primary and Secondary fans are connected to the factory Turbo coupe ECU pins. This means to use an electric fan (see Stinger's site for depin/repin instructions of EECiv ecu's), you populate these pin locations if a wire is not already there.
You would still need a relay, but there is no need for an aftermarket controller.
The PIMP has no control over the fan when the key is switched off. The fan will not run if the key is switched off, although it can run key on/engine off.

To add to that, you should be able to include a manual switch and when wired through the relay properly, be able to manually turn it on with the switch when the key is off.
