I've got a 1986 Mustang notchback project car for sale. The body has 50k miles, a bit of rust but the rust is isolated to cosmetic parts. It needs rocker panels, a few small floor patches, and maybe lower door skins. It's got a clean title, without issues. Drove straight when it was together.
It comes with a 2.3L turbo drivetrain. I put it together a few years ago with parts from a 1986 Turbocoupe Thunderbird. The engine I was using had about 160k miles, it started rattling so I pulled it down. It's due for a rebuild. I got a lower mileage engine from a Merkur XR4TI and had it machined for a rebuild. The rotating assembly is together, but it needs to be finished. Everything is there to reassemble except the cylinder head needs to be rebuilt. The rest of the drivetrain is all newer. The 5spd trans has about 70k miles, the 8.8 rear was rebuilt a year ago with all new Ford Racing parts and 3.55 gears.
Lots of new parts, too much to list here. Almost everything on the car has been rebuilt and/or upgraded. Click the link in my signature and read if you want to know more. I added up what I've spent the last 4 years, and it came to about $6,000. I'd like to get $3,500 for all of it, there's more then that in parts if I were to separate it. I just don't want to mess with it anymore.
I'm looking to sell this project as is, there's a rolling body, two engines, a transmission, driveshaft, a trunk full of accessories, and about 4 boxes of additional parts. As it sits it doesn't run and drive, you'll need a truck and a car trailer to move it. I'm looking for a serious buyer, no BS please. Don't ask questions unless you've got the money and a way to come pick it up.
