I was wanting some opinions on what's the best exhaust system for me. Right now it's just the stinger header and 3" down pipe, that's it. It's very loud but the car is only driven in nice weather so it doesn't bother me. I got a 3" in/3" out dynomax race bullet muffler to put on to appease my wife, and need to figure out where/how to hang it. Should I use the torctite exhaust clamps to attach it to the down pipe? There isn't much room along that side of the bottom of the car, and there isn't a place for a hanger very close to that at all. So I would have to make one and weld it to the bottom of the car. Or should I weld the muffler to the down pipe? It slips over the down pipe with ease so I don't know if an exhaust clamp would be good enough to seal it.
What about a 3"x6" flex pipe and then the muffler? Or should I get a mid pipe and run it to the back of the car and hang the muffler there? Also, I want to put a "Y" in it and have the Y open when out ... cruising... Anybody ever used one they like a lot, where in the system should I put that? Close to the down pipe or near back with the muffler?

I would definitely recommend using a flex pipe right after the down pipe.

Putting the muffler directly on the end of the downpipe without a hanger that has a lot of flex in it is asking for trouble as it puts a very large moment (load) on the header.
My personal opinion would be to use a midpipe and put the muffler where it's supposed to be, which also is where the hanger is.

If I get the mid pipe, and over the axle pipe through you is it necessary to use the flex hose at any point in the system? Also for the cutout it should go up near the downpipe, correct?

A flex pipe isn't mandatory, though it never hurts/can only help.
I'd put the cutout at the beginning of the midpipe/end of the downpipe and let it exit towards the passenger side. This is how I had it setup on my 91 LX.

I want to run the muffler to exit in front of the passenger rear tire. With that in mind if I got a measured length would you be able to cut a 3" pipe to length? I could use that pipe, a cut out, and a flex pipe w/ some clamps and make my own exhaust hangers. Sound safe enough to not stress the downpipe/header/turbo?

You're going to run into a few issues when trying to route the exhaust that way. First, you'll need to run a small round muffler like a glasspack or more ideally, a race style muffler that doesn't have louvers inside the exhaust and mount it somewhere between the end of the downpipe and where the pipe turns to go out the side of the car. This is because the factory muffler location is rearward of the front of the rear tire so you can't easily route the outlet back in front of the tire.
Second issue is ground clearance (especially on a lowered car). The round muffler in the non-stock location will stick down farther than anything else under the car. Also, without cutting into the floorboard or using oval tubing, you'll significantly reduce ground clearance where that 3" pipe routes under the floor to get to the side of the car.

The Dynomax race bullit is round, pretty large round, but round. I think it's about 5" diameter. I really only ever drive it to the interstate, or down main roads to meets, and I'm just not too concerned with clearance where I live as most of the speed bumps are in lots that I wouldn't be cruising to and all the roads even in neighborhoods are speed bump less and very smooth/well maintained. Car has for now factory height rear suspension.
So outside of clearance issues and the size of the race bullet would what I described work? I know I'd have to weld in a mount for the hangar, but I don't want to put too much pressure on the header/turboparts.

A passenger side midpipe cut to length with the bullet and a 45 or 90 degree bend to get it out from under the car should work. You'll need at least one rubber hanger to support the system, two wouldn't hurt, nor would a flex pipe.
