I can't remove the alum. housing, but I can spin in completely freely and the impeller wheel dosen't move. I'm guessing it kaput, so i'm ordering a t3/t4 w/stage 3 wheel, 50 trim. what is the different a/r mean? also, was my header kit supposed to come with the turbo return oil manifold? Thanks alot

The a/r decides what rpm it spools at...trades top end flow for quicker spool. .48 or .63 is what you'd be looking at. I like the .63.
You mean the aluminum return flange that bolts to the turbo? If so yes, it should...I thought I screwed one onto the line but I may not have. Does the line have a plastic cap over the threads on both ends?

The large line had 2 45's attatch to the hose fittings. the hose has a straight on one end & a 90 on the other. I don't think either had plastic caps though. Does the 90 end go to the turbo? w/o the turbo that appears to be the best fit. What is the best way to cap the metal water feed line?

Hmm, sounds like you didn't get a flange in the box...figures we'd miss something when we were throwing parts in. PM your address and I'll mail you one unless you're going to be in my area before you'll need the flange.
Yes, the 90 threads into the turbo, the T goes into the head.
You can get a water cooled turbo to keep the water lines in use. Otherwise they make "bypass hose" blockoff caps that you can clamp onto the line.

I tested my wastegate. I don't know what the spring inside looks like, but the extra spring had yellow stripes. The waste gate crack was 9.80psi. As I understand it, that means and 18 psi spring + or -.
Is there a gasket in the wastegate I need if I swap springs to test the other spring? What are the + & - of "recycling" the wastegate dump?

No gasket, just make sure the internal seal is seated and doesn't get pinched when reassembling it.
Not using a wastegate dump means the wastegate will vibrate like crazy at certain rpm's, causing cracks to try to form around the wastegate tube. I've added an additional brace to this area to help prevent it.
The other issue is it's pretty loud when it opens (it's a 1.5" exhaust leak) and it puts black soot below the gate. This sound also makes it hard to hear detonation because it's got a similar sound and comes in at the same time as detonation would.

The w/g crack psi on the yellow stripe spring is 4.9, green stripe 9.8.
Are there 2 different oil return line lengths? Mine looks to be a few inches short. Oal from c/l of the 90 to the strt flange is 12". If I can get it to fit, it will be tight to the #4 header tube.

Sounds like the yellow one is the "low boost" spring then.
There is only one header return line. It's the right length. A pic of how it's supposed to be routed is in the FAQ section of this forum...it never goes anywhere near the #4 header tube.

So I need to rotate the centersection 90 deg. also?

The oil gravity feeds out of the turbo so the return always has to be pointing down.

Could you custom make one of your top mount headers with a volvo flange for the volvo head swap?

No, but I've seen a few others do it so I know at least the header tube spacing is close enough to make it work.

Will a Holset HE351CW fit the stinger header?

Yes, though you may need a spacer where it bolts to the header depending on where you rotate the compressor housing to.
