My Pinto is a 75 with 8" rear and a T-5 5-Speed. Ported head and Boport 1.5 cam. Gonna go with a full 3" exhaust. And a T3/T4 with Volvo I/C. I just got my center mount Bob's log and will be ordering the oil in and oil out stuff from you. My friend is getting a center mount Bob's log too so I will be making an order for mostly two of everything One of my questions is what down pipe of yours do you think will work best with the center mount log in a 75 Pinto? Have you fitted one to a Pinto? My Bob's log has an external WG so that's not a problem. I have everything on the intake side taken care of except for the BOV and I was thinking of the dual piston one you sell. Thanks. -Aaron

You'll either need a stock location downpipe with a 90 degree elbow welded to the top of it to reach the turbo, or the header downpipe with about 4" cut out of the vertical section.

Cool. That is helpful.
The header down pipe sounds like a winner.

Well. I just ordered 2 of everything except the one down pipe. We are gonna hold off on the second one till we see how it looks on the Pinto. Oh! I tried to order a pair of the external waste-gates and it wouldn't let me put em' in my "cart". Everything else went right in the cart. Are you not selling them any more? Looking forward to seeing the stuff I ordered

Hmm...not sure what's up with the WG cart button, I'll dig into it. In the meantime, it appears you can successfully add them to the cart via the universal parts page rather than the header parts page: www.stinger-performance.com/universalparts.html

Hey. Got the stuff a few days ago. Wow it all looks great. The work is progressing. But the two oil drain back flanges I ordered aren't in the box. I looked through everything Oh and on the external waste gates. I remember reading that the different springs only allow a certain range of boost control. Is that the case with the ones you sell. Basically what range would the 12 PSI spring give me to play with? 12 PSI through- PSI?

The spring on the WG dictates the minimum boost. You can raise it as high as you want from there. We are now out of wastegates and won't have any for a month or so.
Send me an email with your address and the lack of flanges info and I'll send them to you.

Ok sent you the address.
So the springs minimum boost doesn't effect how it behaves at higher levels? Cool. I was thinking of putting a lower minimum spring in there. Like a 5 PSI or something and being able to turn it up to 18-20 PSI. Someone told me the lighter spring might present a problem controlling boost when turned up that much. If it's not a problem then I might look for a lower boost spring. Does the manufacturer sell Lower boost springs?

In theory you're supposed to use a spring that is close to your target boost level for best control. In practice I haven't found any issues with running a low boost spring and higher pressure (though I think a 5 psi is excessively low). The factory wastegate is set to a 10psi minimum so going below that seems like a waste. The manufacturer doesn't sell lower boost springs than those supplied, only higher. You can source springs from other manufacturers that will work as long as the diameter and length are the same.
