Bringing this thread back for a related SPEC Stage 2+ question: I overheated the clutch at the track by accidentally slipping it during a burnout. Lost all pedal pressure and had to be pushed off the line. After an hour of cool down the clutch came back and it felt fine to drive home (75 mph for 120 miles, out of boost, stopping along the way). Just wondering how resilient the Stage 2+ is. I plan to give it a test run today, but just trying to determine if it will last for the next few races, especially when chasing faster times (12.9, ideally). Whenever I toasted my 5.0 clutches (Centreforce DF, King Cobra), they never felt like they came back and replacement was the only option. If I need a new friction disc, does it make sense to jump up to the 5.0 clutch and flywheel with a Canfield adapter plate?

It would be rare if it came back with 100% of the holding force it had before since you most likely glazed the flywheel and pressure plate during this time. Fortunately running high 12's won't require anywhere near 100% of the holding force so there is a good chance it will hold ok for you in the future at those power levels. I typically wouldn't say the 5.0 stuff makes sense until you're approaching or exceeding 400hp or so.

Thanks Stinger. Good to hear there's life in it. I just came back from a test pull, up a hill in 2nd gear boosting 21 psi and it held. I plan to raise the boost and timing with some race gas, then I'll push my luck at the track.
