I am finally putting my 87 tc back together and have some exhaust ques. The engine is a cmplt rebld, bigger inj, and a pimp.
I don't have funds to upgrsde turbo, header, and intercooler yet, but plan to in future. I also want to keep the AC. Can I even do a FMIC with AC?
I'm thinking of going with the cmplt dual exh syst from the stock location here. Will the dwnpipe work with future upgrades, such as the 3" elbow for a turbo upgrade? I want to do this once, because I need to put the bung for the wideband in the, (dwnpipe or intermediate?)
Also about the dual setup, can the mustang ss 2.5" angled tip work with the TC?
Does the length of the dwnpipe or intrmdt pc make up the distance of the catltyc cnvrtr? What about the hangers from the cat, is there a substitute?

You can do an FMIC with the a/c without a problem.
The complete dual exhaust comes with a downpipe that bolts to the stock turbo elbow with a 2 bolt flange. If you upgrade to a 3" elbow down the road, you can cut the flange off the downpipe and weld on the elbow.
You can put the wideband in the bottom of the downpipe or midpipe. If there is a chance you'll swap out the downpipe at some point, don't put it in there.
No to the Mustang tailpipes, they are over a foot too short.
The downpipe/midpipe is made to not use a cat. If you want to run a cat, you cut out a section of pipe and weld in the cat. You can re-use the stock hanger near the cat.

I'm leaving out the 3" elbow for now, because I think I read here that the factory turbo flange can't handle it. It keeps breaking bolts?
If I ever change the header to something like your center mount that is not stock location this down pipe won't work? or will it be just a length issue? Will it be to short?

The bolts break on stock turbos because they are rusted into the housing and snap off when you try to remove them to remove the stock elbow.
The header uses a completely different downpipe because it changes the turbo location and rotation.

How much extra for the SS dual exhaust version of downpipe, midpipe, and y pipe? How much longer for shipping?
Thanks for your help.

$480 for stainless.
Typically a week or two longer for shipping depending on timing.

Is there a factory location setup with the 3" elbow and downpipe allready put together? Do I have to weld them together? Do I need the O2 sensor in the elbow even though I'll have the wide band installed for the pimp?

No, there is no "already together" option because you lose the adjustment of the stock elbow's ball flange so fitment has to be perfect (which means it needs to be test fitted on the car before final welding). Rather than welding them directly together, it's ideal to weld a 3" v-band flange to each side and clamp them together so it's easy to remove in the future.
No on the o2 sensor in the elbow.

Ok, the v-band makes sense and souds easier. Do you have the elbows without the O2 bung? If I do leave out the O2 does thst mean constant check eng light?
Can I get the downpipe without the ball flange setup on it?
Is there a big disadvantage with internal BOV VS external, the internal is the only option with that elbow? Is that elbow oing to work with a t3/4 down the road?
Sorry if my questions are obvious, but this is all new to me.

The elbows are made to order. If you make a note with your order to not weld in the o2 in the elbow, I'll leave it out.
The PiMP doesn't use the stock o2 sensor at all, and it doesn't throw codes so with the PiMP, the answer is no. You need the stock o2 sensor with the stock ecu though.
Yes, we have downpipes without the flange. Same price as with the flange. When ordered with an elbow, we ship the flangless version.
Wastegate and BOV are not the same thing and are not interchangeable. As far as internal wg verses external, you have no choice but to run the internal version with the stock exhaust manifold.
If you want an elbow that works with a T3/T4 down the road, you need to have a T3 3" elbow made. The T3 is stock on 83-86 Turbo Coupes, the 87+ cars got an IHI that uses and different elbow that doesn't work with T3/T4's. Furthermore, I think a 3" elbow on an IHI is a waste of time because the turbo is so small the stock elbow isn't a major restriction.

So that's why most people just get the 3" downpipe and don't mess with the elbow off the side of the turbo. I have my turbo off right now and was thinking about ordering it but it's not worth the chance of breakin the bolts off?

No, not for an IHI. I'd wait until you get a T3/T4 and don't have old bolts to deal with.
