Fastest passes for each person for the day:
JD Laramee 9.26@129 Dave Flanders 9.599@140 Brian Fennell (Stangman93) 9.601@145 Jon Huber 9.70@140 Matt Culpepper 10.363@131 Dale Knapke 10.94@125 Neal Gierach 10.55@120 Curtis Hensley 11.40@118 (Turbotoy, on 11.40 dial) Micheal Dunn 12.109@114 Marty Buth 12.16 (winner) Tom Smith 12.50 (runner-up) Steve Brangnyn 20.83@112
The fastest of the top 5 that didn't make the trip was Fred House who's been 7.80's.
It was a bracket race so the quickest cars were at a disadvantage (hard to be consistent when you're running at the absolute limit of traction and such). 12 time NHRA record holder Marty Buth won.

I almost went to that (IFO). There is a guy on my local car forums that went a 10.06 in a white Supra turbo. Nice videos!

What's up with that 9.26 @ 129?! Did he let off and still cover a 9.26?

Yeah, it was a good time!
There were 2 Supras racing, both about the same speed.
As for the 9.26@129, he was lined up next to a Eclipse that took forever to light the second bulb to stage which meant JD was on the brake at the line for 19 seconds (see the second vid posted above). Each second adds 100 degrees to the trans fluid temp so do the math. Basically the Eclipse driver caused JD to grenade the trans and engine. He did get one more pass that showed it was hurt, then let go in the burnout box when trying to run a 3rd time.

I'm wondering how that could happen because any track i have ever raced at works as follows... both cars prestage then once 1 car stages the second car only has 7 seconds to stage. If the second car doesn't stage in 7 seconds his red light should come on and the tree starts down on the other side.

It was an import race, nothing went as expected and everything was screwed up.
Some of the guys would be 10 feet from the prestage line and they'd be crawling up to it a few inches at a time like they couldn't tell they were still a car length behind the car in the other lane. Then one of them would stall at the line while the other ran in the 19's...it was a joke. There appeared to be about 15 import guys there who knew WTF they were doing (out of probably 100 cars).
You can see the debacle in the second video posted "Gateway 2012 Laramee pass 1" above.

It was still a very enjoyable event, it just didn't result in many "best" times.
I took the vids.
