When I put the FMIC in what should I do with the Vacuum lines that went into the TMIC on my 88 bird? Do I need to plumb them in somewhere? One went in pre- compressor and one went over to the vac tree and beyond. A diagram of what I should do pertaining this would be great. I just put in a t-3 out of a 86 bird on my 88, what should I do pertaining the compressor outlet to hook up the FMIC tubing? another words I got a flange there, I do have the part I can mount on there that went with the 86 non intercooled car. Thanks for any info. Links to where I can study these things will be fine.

You can plug the lines that went to the stock intercooler. Just make sure the line from the turbo outlet to the wastegate actuator (or boost controller) stays connected.
For the outlet flange, the easiest fix is to cut the factory "non ic" pipe about 1-1.5" above the flange. This leaves you with a round 2" connection you can clamp the silicone coupler to. You'll need to cut the 90 degree silicone coupler shorter to make up for this added height. You'll want to rotate the compressor housing to the way it is rotated in the pics on our site where we list the FMIC kit for sale (straight up or towards the passenger side depending on exhaust manifold type).

Thanks for the quick reply, Guess I'll have to rotate the compressor a bit, it's angled a bit to the pass. side. Pry 15-20 degrees off 90, think I can leave it alone or should I go ahead and get it strait up? Or better yet wait till I get thing mocked up with the FMIC? Thanks again.

If your turbo is stock location, it was designed to point basically straight up, though it should work to the passenger side some as well. If you've got one of our headers, it needs to be towards the passenger side some. Best bet is to mock it up and do it however you prefer and that allows the wastegate actuator to to not be in a bind.

LOL I feel like I'm pestering you but I sure appreciate the replies. 88 T-bird, IC should arrive tommorow, piping later. Think I can get the IC up front then go ahead and install my radiator? Can I work the pipes in around the radiator with it in? This is my daily driver just trying to get er back on the road soon. Besides I'm laid off for 1 more week and I'm bored. Oh hey does it matter where I put the by-pass valve? is it better closer to the throttle or does it matter? Thanks a bunch I'm getting all giddy!

You should be able to install it without removing the radiator. I've seen people unbolt the bottom of the front bumper cover, cut the lower section of the hood safety latch, and slide the intercooler into the nose, then bolt the bottom of the bumper cover back in place. Then you should be able to install the tubing from above.
I can't remember, did you get a BPV bung welded to the tubing? If so, the location is decided for you. If not, put it wherever you prefer it. We put it near the turbo outlet pointing to the passenger side.

Well I got the tubes Tuesday, Got it all in and am very happy with the way it went! Just waiting to get a flange fabbed up so that the outlet on the turbo is strait up rather than pointed to the passenger side. I tried reclocking it but the waste gate hit the motor mount and the flapper was partly open so that wouldn't be good. Get that and I'll be ready to give her a drive, Got the new to me T-3 turbo on I should see a decent improvement between those two items. Great products Stinger!!!

Good to hear you like it.
What prevented you from being able to leave it clocked partially towards the passenger side?

Well the outlet on the turbo IS clocked to the passenger side, just your tube to attach to it would have to be up against the inner fender well. I cut the non IC flange I had, but need to angle it up to get a nice fit. I tried to clock it so the outlet was strait up but the affore mentioned things happened.
