So I have what is apparently the older style manifold with no ford logo on it, like the one on the right of this picture If I buy a gutted manifold from you can I use this as a core and get the newer style with the ford logo? Also I know the newer one is shorter and is why they went to the newer valve cover with the dip in it. Has anyone put the newer manifold on the old "turbo" valve cover? Worst case I imagine a spacer could be made to use both.

That depends partially on what type of cores we have available when you submit your order. Just so you know, the ones with the Ford logo are available in short (87-88 TC) and tall (87-90 2.3 Mustang).
From what I've seen, the short versions just barely touch the valve cover (light enough to bolt it on) but the throttle linkage hits the valve cover.
