Does anyone have a link for a detailed rundown of the FMIC install with a bunch of photos? i just got my kit for my 84 svo and while it seems like it would be fairly easy to do the the install it seems to be not as such.
Do the pipes coming off each side of the intercooler go above or below the bumper crash shocks?
Any pictures of how people are actually mounting the intercooler. The brackets that came with it don't seem to meant for the car, more like I have to do some fabrication.
Do I need cut off the ac condenser mounts on the radiator support? If I rest the intercooler on those mounts the inlets on the intercooler are being blocked by the steel bumper crash shocks.

I've only got a couple pics of mine handy. I left my ac on. Haven't gotten it charged yet though. I did lengthen one pipe a little. Don't know if you'll need to but it helped me get a little more clearance.

I took the ac mounts out, its just one bolt one each of them. then i drilled holes from under the bumper to line up with the mounts on the intercooler. then i just bolted it down, its pretty solid that way without the top mounted at all but i would still mount the top sometime. As for the tubing i had to cut alot of plastic on each side by the wheel wells. I just uaed a sharp knife. I did mine a little different than fess40. None of mine went under the car at all but i also did some trimming of the tubbing to make it fit right on the driver side. I also had to move the power steering cooler. I hope this helps you any.

I've got an 88 TC with 120* rotated intake. Keeping all the accessories and stock fan, how does the FMIC fit in? Does the hood latch support need to be moved/removed? Are there clearance issues?
Are there example pics of how it fits with this setup?
Every part we've ordered comes with wonderful instructions. It's a wonder how we're not sure.

On TC's, the hood latch support needs to be cut where the IC sits (the upper part of the support remains). Everything else stays the same as mentioned above.

So the fans stay the same? We've got it mocked up and there's only about 2-3 inches between the IC tubes and the radiator.

With a 120 degree intake the tubes don't even cross over the center area of the engine so there should be no issues with the fan. You can post a pic of the install and I can verify it's all correct if you want. Both pipes should be vertical where they come up around the frame rails, not tilted significantly.
