Stinger,
Thanks for the original reply concerning my flywheel question. I will be ordering one from you within the next month. The chassis I am putting my 88 TC motor is a 92 LX 5.0. I believe that the motor should drop right in there, correct? Will I have to change the oil pan, if so, which year pan should I use? Finally, I am going to be rebuilding the motor and i have noticed that Melling makes a high volume oil pump for it, but says not to use it with the aluminum pan, would you happen to know why that is or is it even advantageous to put that oil pump on my motor? TIA for any help you can give.
-Sam

the 5.0 out a fox mustang will use the same oil pan(both fox bodies) for the oil pump question no idea as to why it would interfere

You don't mean that the 5.0 oil pan will fit the 2.3, do you? I would find that hard to believe, but I could be totally wrong. I have already purchased an oil pan off of a '92 2.3 N/A which is a cast aluminum pan. I would like to put the high volume oil pump on the car, but I don't want find out the hard way why it cautions against using it with the aluninum pan. I am trying to get all of this lined up before I jump feet first into this swap, which I will be starting in a couple of weeks now that "school's out for SUMMER!"

He meant the pans will work in either car, because the T-bird and mustang are both fox chassis.

Don't use a high volume oil pump, they are nothing but trouble. They make the engine eat auxiliary shaft/distributor gears. The stock pump flows as much oil as a 460...it is more than sufficient.
The aluminum pan has a different depth. You have to use the same oil pump/pan combination as they came stock. Why not just use the 88TC oil pan?

.....I guess with what you are saying, the 88Tc oil pan WILL fit in the 92 'stang with no troubles? Thanks for the heads up about the oil pump.

Yes, TC's and Mustangs are both "fox body" chassis's which means most of their parts swap just fine.
