Yo.... so, a common conversion for the Bronco II is a Ranger or Explorer 4.0L swap. Most people swap out a Ranger 4.0L engine harness which leaves the essential accessories such as Brake lights, Power windows ect... in the dark with out power. Another way to convert the BII to a 4.0L is to completely swap every wiring aspect from front to back of a early Explorer with a complete 4.0 (early '90s) Explorer wiring harness. I want to make this S#!T easier !!! From what I understand the PiMP is very versatile and can be implemented to work with my 4.0 swap application. Can some one tell me what I should expect by installing a PiMP instead of doing a bunch of manual labor wiring work ?

I guess I need to know the Pinout of the PiMP first. I did some searching but I've not found it yet. Can someone supply a diagram ? EDIT: Actually, I think all the 4.0L have Electronic Distributor-less Ignition. Dang :-( Can the swap still be done even though ?

The PiMP can be used but it will still require wiring changes to get all the 4.0L components powered up and functional (ignition, injectors, sensors, etc.). You didn't say what engine you're swapping out to drop in the 4.0 so I can't supply much more info. You can email me and I'll supply you with a PiMP diagram.

Stinger, after looking at the PiMP spec page I noticed that it supports Electronic Distributor-less Ignition too. Forgive me for not noticing that earlier. Anyway, my particular swap is a '90 BII/2.9L to a early '90s OHV Ranger/Explorer 4.0L. The unknown is swapping the 2.9L distributor to the 4.0 at this time. Its only been done by a few people. I've started a thread over on BroncoII Corral in hopes that others will catch the buzz. It seems a 4.0 swap occurs every month or two at least. This way others with more knowledge than myself can take interest and hopefully share their thoughts. FYI, The later SOHC 4.0L motor will swap too using the older OHV EEC & harness. However, since the engine block is bigger it interferes with the A/C blower box. Therefore, most people elect to use the old OHV motor instead.

Yes, either ignition system will work, just changes wiring requirements and some software settings changes.

I sent a email for the diagram. I had to use my Gmail account because my other mail server or something wasn't playing nice. Thank you Sir !
