i am getting my parts together to put a 84 svo motor into a 91 lx, i was looking at the motor in my shop and i noticed that there was no blow off valve. just a vacuum line from the intake to the turbo? no bov? did the stock svo motor use one? i would think so! i don't know that much about this stuff BOV or BPV (which one did ford use and which one part # should i use) do you have any pics? Help!

No blow off valve on an SVO or any turbo ford.

what happens to the boost when you close the throttle blades? i thought all turbo motors had them. my svo has a vaccum line from the turbo side to the intake side and no valve! aren't i losing boost all the time then?

Not all turbo cars have bov's. The boost stacks up between the turbo and tb when you close the throttle. You aren't "loosing boost" as there is no where for it to go. Technically bov's "lose boost" because it lets it out of the system. You can add a bov or bypass valve if you prefer.

my svo has a vaccum line from the turbo side to the intake side before the turbo and no valve! aren't i losing boost all the time then because the boost psi is always bleeding off into the intake? i don't think this is right maybe somebody over the years put a vac. line in the wrong place. i wish i knew how to post a pic to show you.
