What are the benefits of switching out the TFI ignition system on a 87 tc turbo engine. is it worth puttinf out the money to upgrade to something else? and what exactly would i have to switch?

The most common upgrade is to go to a crank trigger (replacing the distributor) and then going to a higher output coil for a stronger spark. The crank trigger also gives a slightly more accurate timing reading when configured properly since it doesn't have any dizzy gear slop. Is it "worth" it on a <350hp engine? Probably not unless you're well versed in how to accomplish this swap without a ton of help.

There are a ton of discussions about different ignition setups in the PiMP section of the forum. You'd need help wiring the system, setting up the software, etc. It is a LONG ways away from a "plug and play" system.
