I'm looking g to change my set up on one of my cars. It's currently a carb 408 stroker with nitrous. That's how I got the car. I'm wanting to get rid of all the carb stuff and go efi and go turbo. I think the pimp would do wonders and I am some what familiar with the pimp as I have done a ton of research on it for my 2.3 t build. I know it will work but I am not sure what wiring harness to run. I liked the detail zone one specific for the 2.3t as it is pretty easy and straight forward and all of my ignition / start / prime / fuel pump is wired into switches so it will make it a breeze and plug into the pimp with no issues. But I don't think it will hook up to the 5.8 sensors and it has 4 injector harnesses.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

detail zone offers a universal 5.0/5.8 harness as well.

Is that specific to the pimp? I know they built one specific for the pimp. Not sure if the 5.0/5.8 would plug right in or be long enough to fit the ecu in the factory location

Detail zone can build you whatever you want if you talk to them. I've heard the universal harness could use a little more length to work in the stock location. We could probably get them to make a pimp specific v8 harness as well.

If you could swing it and have one built for a v8 specific to the pimp to fit in the factory computer location. I would purchase it.

Would this be a possibility? What would be needed to do have there 5.0/5.8 harness work with the pimp?

Their standard 5.0/5.8 harness will work with a PiMP, it will just have some extra wires that could be removed (EGR, MAF, etc.) and will be labeled for the stock application, not labeled for a PiMP as the PiMP harness is.

Do you know if anything would be changed or re wired for the pimp to work with the harness?

It shouldn't need to be. What applicaiton is the harness for? The PIMP is plug and play for a9l applications.

My current car is a 1991 hatch with a carb'd/nitrous combo. The engine harness is gone and it uses a digital 7 programmable that is wired into the dash harness on the passenger floor. Thats how I got the car and I am wanting to go EFI so its all gotta go. Looking for a relatively easy installation with out re wiring a ton of extra stuff as it is not my strongest point.

A stock 91-93 v8 harness would probably be easiest (assuming they simple unplugged the old one rather than cutting it out). A Ron Francis/Detail Zone universal 5.0/5.8 harness would be the same difficulty as a PiMP specific v8 harness, just slightly less clean (extra wires and such).

Will the factory harness need to be modified to allow the pimp to work properly? As it has a maf. I'm thinking the Ron Francis obe would be easier as mine was cut out and all re done to a toggle switch panel ie , start , ignition and fuel pump. Water pump and fan etc

The PiMP is plug and play with factory 85-95 vehicles (with stock harness). The MAF makes no difference, you just don't use those wires or that MAF sensor anymore.
I can't say which way is easier since I'm not there to look at your current wiring situation.

That harness should be a duplicate of the stock harness from a pinout standpoint.
