i just picked up my head from the machine shop. i had it ported and polished and big valves installed the machine shop installed 194/160 valves. i had thought he was going to install 189/159 valves. is there a down side to using these valves .i have a stock turbo head on the truck now

The ports can't support the flow of that large of a valve but it would still be better than a stock unported head, it's just not ideal.

The turbo doesn't make enough velocity even on a ported head to offset the oversize valves?

The turbo doesn't make enough velocity even on a ported head to offset the oversize valves? The turbo has nothing to do with how the head flows. Velocity is the same, pressure just increases.
