I own a 85 svo with few mods (p.i.m.p, holset hy35, bob log, 38mm external wastegate, big fmic,80lbs inj.gutted upper/lower,). I currently have a junkyard distributor out of a 2.3 mustang n/a, it works but not sure how well. My question is what's the benefits and disadvantages of running a different ignition setup and how difficult to change it?

If you're not blowing out the spark (unlikely under 350hp) then you'll not really notice any difference and it's probably not worth changing, particularly if you don't know how to do so.

What do u recommend as far as a replacement? Remanufactured from oreilly or something?
