We sell 3 cats. When installed at the base of the downpipe, the round version fits best. When installed closer to the trans, the oval one fits better. The "spun" cat is the smallest so it's the easiest to package but is more expensive.

okay so I am ordeeing tomorrow full 3 inch stainless steel exaust system from you with magnaflow mufflers. I need to pick a high flow cat. but my question is will I have to have it welded. also I want to keep it in similar place as stock one so therefor I will be able to secure it to the mount with the two rods that hold the stock one. When I get it installed should they take the to rrods of old cat and use them on new cat. or how does all this pan out. what cat would you recommend for this to be done so it is almost identical to original system as far as where cat sits and how its secured with to rods. Thanks and sorry if I am not makin sense

and also I assume all cats are 3 inch in and out .also since it is being made can you make the setup with the cat welded with mountin rods? Or would it have to be dry fitted and welded in place .

It is best to weld the cat in place, yes. You can't use both cat hangers as the new cat is about 1/4 the size of the stock one so it doesn't cover that much area. You can use the one in the trans crossmember though and cut it off the stock cat and weld on new cat/exhaust.
All the cats we sell are 3" in/out. The stock cat is near the trans so get the oval one.
It needs to be dry fitted and welded in place.

That depends on how you want to do it. You can weld in those items solid, or use v-bands to make it easy to disassemble/reassemble but cost quite a bit more. You can use our torctite clamps to clamp together the exhaust in the normal locations (downpipe to midpipe, midpipe to muffler inlet, muffler outlet to tailpipe, tailpipe front to rear sections) and those clamps allow for easy disassembly/reassembly at those locations.

ok I ordered the system yesterday and today I ordered the cat and a few other things. I am going to use the flex pipe. what do you think a good idea. And if so where shouldit get mounted. Is there any negatives to using the fflex pipe?

also can I use those v clamps on cat and flex pipe without welds. I would prefer not welding any connections at al. What would you recommend stinger. I am pretty much leaving this car and choices I make with your decisions. SO thanks for al the input. If I get annoying just tell me. lol

There is no way to use v-band flanges without welding. They have to be welded to both sides of the connections in order to work. The only "weldless" connection is the torctite clamps but those don't work very well for the cat and don't work at all with the flex pipe...the work perfect at the clip joints that the exhaust comes with between every section of pipe (downpipe to midpipe, midpipe to muffler, muffler to tailpipe, tailpipe axle joint). The v-bands can be used for both the cat and flex connections if you want the cat or flex to be removable. Otherwise they can be welded solid. The flex can really be anywhere in front of the muffler. I would typically say to put it where you're going to put the cat but since the cat will be there, the flex will need to be near the end of the downpipe, or after the cat but before the muffler.
