The 2.3 turbo engine I bought did not have an egr on it. The guy cut it off and rolled up the hose at the exhaust. It did not come with an upper intake so I had to buy one. I have an open hole in my intake now and I wander what to do. I found an egr valve cheap on eBay but no tubing. Should I delete it? If not where can I find a new one?

I deleted mine a long time ago. It isnt going to make a difference without it. Not many people use them. THey always seem to leak. It will not bother a thing without it.

Speaking on this subject guys, If you unplug the egr plug at the solenoid ( not the egr) it will throw a code 84. Would this affect the way the car runs if it is not plugged in and code 84 is always there.

Is there a kit to do this or do you do it yourself?

I just took the egr of and tapped a allen plug in (like a fill plug from a rear or standard trans. And put a cap on the treaded end were the tube use to come out of the exaust manifold. Local plumbing supply should have the cap. ( you can also take a peice of steel or something and put a gasket behind and tighten. I never heard of a kit though. It is a do it yourself

The code won't hurt anything. 40bob sells a block off plate I believe.
The cheapest fix is to take a nickel coin and hammer it into the hole (I think it's a nickel, may be a dime). Either way, it fits tight if hammered in flush.
