Can I buy a adapter from a radio shack or is the one u sell on ur site better/different? If so I'll buy urs but I was hoping to do my install today but forgot to order the adapter wen I got my pimp.

You can get one from anywhere, though you should get one with an FTDI chipset (not a Prolific chipset). It should say on the packaging or description which type it is. The Prolific version tends to be more finicky and has a higher chance of throwing errors or causing issues. FTDI seems to "just work".

If the adapter does not say if it's prolific or ftdi on the box is there another way to tell what chipset it has?

On the usb driver install instructions it only shows for prolific chipset instructions. Is the driver install the same for ftdi?

Just use the drivers that are supplied with the cable.
