I want to gasket match and clean up the ports on my exhaust manifold and have read some write ups on line. I have the stock '88 TC IHI Turbo and E6 manifold. I won't be able to open the turbo inlet housing up to the size of the gasket due to the way the turbo is cast; there is no metal there to allow it to be opened up that far. It also looks like the turbo inlet and exhaust manifold outlet match fairly well. I was thinking of just opening up the turbo inlet slightly and leaving the exhaust manifold outlet the same size. I am posting this because all the write ups on line show the exhaust manifold being opened up to the size of the gasket and that would make mine flow worse if I did that because the turbo can't be opened up. Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.

Get a T3 and all the problems are solved...including having too small of a turbo

I agree a T3 would be much better just don't have the budget for one right now. I have found someone who has gasket matched the IHI turbo inlet: www.cardomain.com/ride/530871/50So I went ahead and opened mine up today and blended it in. Still working on the E6 porting.

Yes, that will work fine.
