I'm installing the Spec 2 clutch & aluminum flywheel (thanks again for a great product and speedy delivery) and I have 2 questions: 1. Are the allen head screws used for packaging appropriate for installation? They look like quality hardened fasteners, but I wanted to make sure. 2. Is there any special orientation of the pressure plate to the aluminum flywheel? I assume the flywheel's zero balance allows me to mount the pressure plate in any position on the dowels.

Yes on the fasteners.
No special orientation.

Got another question regarding the aluminum flywheel - should I install the flywheel with hardened washers under the bolts (ARP 151-2801)? ARP's instructions state "do not use any washers with ARP flywheel bolts". However, I presume the instructions are intended for a steel flywheel and apply to lock washers. I've found similar instructions for Al flexplates that recommend using flat washers. What is the preferred fastening hardware?

The only reason washers would be used is if the heads of the bolts aren't sufficiently sized for the size of the holes in the pressure plate and without washers they would try to dig into the pressure plate when torqued. Otherwise don't use washers.

Thanks Shannon. FYI, I spoke to ARP's tech support line (805-339-2200) and they informed me that using ARP's hardened washers (2008558) is acceptable. Other washers/lock-washers are not to be used.
