What kind of power gain can expect from an air to air or an air to water cooler with 25psi holset, stock engine with blowthrough carb and alky spray? I am debating an air or water cooler. I would think the cold water would be great but how much better is it? Is it worth the extra work. I have not had time to track test it with a cooler yet so i was wondering what a realistic gain would be. Thanks!

I'd anticipate a gain of 40+hp with a large air/air. I personally think an air/air and meth injection is better than an air/water on anything but a race car. Remember to have ice water in the IC, you need a large (30+ gallon) tank to fill with ice. That will only last a few pulls before you need to refill.

Stinger thanks for the quick reply. A 40hp gain would be welcome my way as i'm down on power right now. The track i race at has a stream approx 40-50ft from our parking spot i could fill the tank with cold water every pass or two and it would be no big deal. But i might do the air to air just for simplicity. I will let you know my findings and hopefully a decent gain LOL.Thanks.

im not sure if your car is daily driven or not, but an air to air would be more practical for that. you would get the same consistent performance from day to day, without having to refill a tank every tine you went for a spirited drive. just my .02. im sure your tune would vary as well with the differing water temps and what not. with the air to air all remains consistent and simple.
