Some wire colors are different but locations are the same. Shouldn't be any issues doing that.

what does matt charge, to do a 88 mustang to 87 turbo coupe? It's like 3 wires...don't even think of paying someone to do that for you. The 91-93 is much more involved so it's overwhelming for some so paying someone else to do it is more reasonable.

lol thanks stinger. ya i have read your article, does not seem to complicated. especially since the wiring is all out any way. i was just kinda curious, i would probably get more satisfaction from doing it myself any way..... that sounds dirty lol

I used stinger's write up and the following write up to swap a '88 turbo coupe engine into an '88 LX 2.3. Click on the following link then click on 85 How To's scroll down then click on 2.3 turbo swap: www.flemworld.com/There are lots of diagrams and step by step instructions. You can't go wrong following these instructions. The wiring was really easy to do. One thing I did do was run a ground from the turbo compressor housing to Pin 49 to insure the O2 sensor is grounded. I used a "jumper" connector from Walmart to make the connection so I didn't have to cut the Pin 49 wire. To connect the VAM to the EGR wires I found a male connector on the tbird engine harness over on the front passenger's side that would plug into the stock mustang 2.3 EGR connector. This way I did not have to cut the mustang harness to connect the VAM wires to the EGR wires. Car runs great after the swap!
