i'm trying to connect the fuel line from the rail to the hardlines in a fox body mustang. it's a 1/4" quick connect with a duckbill clip. any ideas on how to get this connected? i've tried with the clip on the hardline and just shoving it into the plastic connector...didn't work. i've tried to just put the clip in the connector and lube the hardline and shove it on..didn't work. i've even tried to use the plastic removal things that you can buy at oreilly's and no luck....
if anyone has any better ideas please let me know...it's pretty much the only thing keeping me from starting the car.

Is it the return line or the feed line? The return line is smaller in diameter and the feed line is the larger of the two. If it is the feed line squirt some WD40 into the housing, slide onto hard line, and then put the plastic clip in. The clip is just like the one for a Ford fuel filter. The return line takes a round clip the fits inside the hose's end housing. For the return line put the clip inside and just push the line on.

I can't tell for sure which type of connector you are asking about because the plactic removal tools are for a different connector than you seemed to be talking about initially.

I was assuming he was trying to connect the fuel line hoses from the engine to the hard lines on the frame but maybe I am mistaken?

Just put the small round plastic clip in the line pointing into the line, not out (so it locks onto the steel once pushed on). Then just push it on until it clicks into place. If the plastic piece is too mangled it wont work.
