Hi! Its time for a new heater core. I called the dealer and they say the part is obsolete for turbo coupes, but they have the ones for fox mustangs, but they have a different part number. My question is the are the heater cores the same or is there any other ford cores that will fit. Part number would help alot. I really dont wanna go aftermarket in this situation. Thanks!

ok scrach that for now. Does anyone know how to do the mod where you run the lines through the A/C core? This is my only car right now and I need to find a way to rig the line so I wont get High off contact antifreeze steam everytime i drive my car.
Thanks in advance !

I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "Run the lines through the A/C core?". The only thin that should be running through the A/C evaporator is freon. If you live in the south you can just bypass the lines back into the cooling system or put caps on the thermostat housing and waterpump pipe. It doesnt really get cold enough to need heat in the south.
Unless you dont have A/C, in which case you can remove the drier, lower A/C line and orifice tube and just connect the heater hoses to the evaporator.

Nope! my ac does not work, and I live in detroit MI, its not cold enought yet to run the heat (except for in the morning). This is only temporary anyway till I can find another model car that has the same heater core as the turbo coupe and Ford still sells it. So how would i go about doing that last one you said about if I dont have AC? Where is drier and orifice tube. thanks alot for your help!

Here is an exploded view of the evaporator case. The Evaporator is almost dead center. It has two lines coming out of it. The drier is on the passenger side rear corner of the engine compartment. Disconnect it and the lower A/C line. I'm pretty sure there is an orifice tube inside one of the evap lines but im not certain.

Just bypass the core if you don't want to smell the coolant.

It appears that he wants heat though. At least he will, in Detroit, come winter.
