What do i need to convert over to auto. Can i use my t5s bellhousing and im not willing to spend alot for a new trans. Any good ways of going about this with out breakin the bank...ty

I'm in the process of ditching a T5 for a C4. You need the C4 to 2.3 bellhousing, flexplate, converter, shifter. The driveshaft and crossmember will work. I sould have my custom converter and trans in this week and hopefully get a good track time this weekend, i'm tired of destroying the car to make it fast.

You will spend a minimum of $1500 (and probably closer to $3000) to get a C4 that can handle the same amount of power as a T5. You can go 10's with a T5 and a proper clutch regardless of what they are rated at. A stock C4 isn't going to cut it making any kind of real power though...even a stock C4 swap will cost a grand.

My C4 with red eagle clutches, kolene steels and kevlar bands cost me $280.00 including paying my tranny builder. Custom converter $325.00 including shipping, new B&M quarter stick shifter $179.00, Ati full manual reverse valve body $275.00 cheaper ones are $200.0. Flexplate $20.00-50.00 and bellhousing $150.0-200.0. That's approx $1,200.0 for a fairly stout setup. I ran a stock C4 on a twin turbo 5.0 running 127.5mph for many seasons and it never needed repair or freshen ups. A decent C4 will be more reliable, cheaper, and cost way less in drivetrain parts like broken axles, ring and pinions, motor mounts, control arm bushings, trans mounts etc.

Wow, I have a PA -C-4 from the 408W I had and it Held up great, But the cost for the trans. alone was 1800 With 1 free refresh a year.(years ago)But, I kept a T-5 in my 2.3 to keep it more street friendly. I would really consider what kind of driving you will be doing.
