Do I need to have it on the car? I pulled the header and turbo off the other day and the EGR tube was stuck and I ended up cracking it trying to get it off the intake side ... I looked around but couldn't find a thread on it. Does anyone sell a block off plate for it if it's not needed?

You don't need it. You can make a block off plate very easily or I think bo-port or 40bob sells one.

Thanks! Are there any codes that I will encounter or running issues? Just make sure it's blocked off completely at the intake or on the back of the EGR "sensor" itself?

It will throw a EGR code but won't cause the check engine light to come on. Block it off on the intake and exhaust manifold port.
