I'm going to put a fuel cell in the trunk as I'm modifying the entire fuel system on the car. I have brackets to mount the tank but the trunk is very uneven. I was thinking of "massaging" the trunk bed to make it flat which would in turn help with whatever mounting system I come up with. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Anyone mount a cell in the trunk of an 88 TC? Thanks!

Once you're cutting the floor there is no turning back so I don't see any harm in making it flat if it helps mount the cell.

Other option is to make some sort of filler panel to flatten it out. It would basically sit or bolt in the trunk and the cell would mount to it/through it.

i think STINGER is right. can you make a wood frame of some kind and full it with foam in a can . put plastic on tank so it willnot stick bolt it down . but do a little at a time not to much and watch the tank to make sure it is not boeing your tank.
