ALRIGHT!!!! I have got the drive train all buttoned up on my SVO. But I have now got a new problem. I need to get the car to a muffler shop to have them cut and redirect the path of the exhaust system. The current path of the down pipe runs right through the 5.0 bell housing. I have got the whole exhaust system removed from the car.
Here's my question: Will I damage the turbo by driving the car without the exhaust system in place?
The after-market boost controller has got the wastegate set to make 20lbs, but if I stay out of the pedal I should be fine, correct?
The distance I would be driving is about 2.5 miles, at around 45mph, with some hills along the way, on Monday morning with the temp out suppose to be in the mid 30's.
I don't know if that last little chunk of travel data is pertinent to the safety of the turbo during the drive, but I figured it might help.
Bottom line is that I don't want to damage anything on this car before I really get to drive it. I am so excited about finally becoming a part of the "Turbo Forder" family. WooHoo!!!
Thanks for all of you help,
Sam

It won't hurt anything. Try not to spend any money on pipe less than 3" diameter and try to avoid "crush bent" pipe like exhaust shops can bend in house. Mandrel bent (maintains diameter throughout bend) is the only way to go if you are spending money on it.
