what do you think an '88 tc motor should produce at 20psi?
my mods are:
88tc motor, fresh valve seats 86 tc garrett turbo, .68 hot side i think? (the bigger one) 2.5 ic piping to large fmic stock injectors 3" vaf very mildly ported e6 3" turbo back to borla muffler dumped before rear 10* base timing autolite 764s gapped to .032"
this is through a 5 speed (that ironically i blew the pressure plate up in, 6 hours later)
car made 216 horse, 247 tq and was 10.0 rich until almost redline where it was barely 12.0, was set for 20psi but crept down to 17 or 18psi wot

With those mods I'd expect something in the 230-250rwhp range with a proper tune. How was the afr on the 15psi run? Can you post the graphs? You only picked up 20hp with the last 5psi which is quite low. You should gain 5-6hp per 1psi with the stock turbo and such. I will assume this is a tuning issue until I see the graphs with AFR showing on both runs. The graphs could also show what rpm the boost drops from 20 to 17psi. If it just spikes to 20 and drops immediately, then gaining 20hp from 2psi is well within range and these results make more sense.

problem is i didnt have the dyno's wideband on the car for the pulls, only my aem uego in car... i may have to get back on the dyno to try again.
the 15psi run was almost like the 20, it was really rich. ill see if i can get the clutch back in and get another dyno asap. i was hoping for more power too

If you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, remove 5psi and try again.
Can you not datalog with the AEM?

upon closer inspection, it appears someone has had the vaf lid off, is it possible someone could have played with the spring tension and thats why its so rich??

It's possible, only way to know would be to try another vam. What is your fuel pressure now (vacuum line off)?

ill have to get a guage back on it, its kind of low pressure. if i turn it down it acts up so i figured that was too low

The ~10hp jump right after 3k seems to indicate that's where the boost spiked to 20 before settling down to 17. Just sounds like the boost controller wasn't turned up high enough to maintain 20psi.
