Hey! I had a quick question. Im sorry in advance if its been answered before.
I have an 86 powertrain w/ PE computer swapped into a 79 capri. I only have the engine harness. Car runs and reaches temp great. I never had a premium fuel switch or any wiring. Ive read grounding pin 30 on the 86, will leave the computer in premium mode?! Is this correct? Thanks for any help

Yes, that's correct. Ground pin 30 to enter premium fuel mode. Be sure you have an FMIC or a stock intercooler with proper hood opening/airflow when using this mode. If using with 91 octane pull the timing back a degree or two.

Thank you so much. Plenty of 93 here in RI. I have the Stinger 3β downpipe on there as well. Looking forward to getting this car on the road! I also read that it ties into the boost control? Is there anything i need to do for that? Thanks again

It only effects boost control when using the stock boost controller (which almost nobody with a swap uses since they are typically looking for more than stock boost levels).

Note stock ECU's either use the stock boost controller or a manual boost controller like we sell. Our electronic one doesn't work with the stock ECU.

Just getting back into this. Should i clip pin 30 wire and ground it coming out of the computer?
Also. Someone said i should be teeing pin 24 into another (46 maybe)
Again, its a PE computer basically just the engine harness, hotwired

Pin 30 is the one you ground for the PE ECU.
Pin 24 is the 87-88 TC ECU pin (so it doesn't apply to you).
You can ground to chassis, or to a switch, or to pin 46 (sensor ground inside the ECU). Doesn't matter where you ground it or where you cut it or whatever, it's all the same.

Once again. Im back at it. This time im finishing the projects
Im going to feed the Premium fuel switch the ground, and when its βonβ, pin 30 should see ground. Correct?
Ive started a youtube channel. I have a few other cool capris as well. I really appreciate all your help

Pin 30 grounded = premium, pin 30 not grounded = regular mode. There are many different ways to accomplish this but the end result is the same as what pin 30 sees (ground or no ground) is what determines premium vs regular mode. So if you wire it so the premium switch grounds pin 30 when the switch is on (light on the switch is on) then that's how it is in SVO's.

Got it done today. Wired it all with the relay and everything from the svo. Pin 30 coming out of the pe computer sees ground when the switch is in premium mode, and i even got the light to work
