I noticed a difference between my ported lower intake and the stock one that’s currently on my 88TC in the place of air temperature sensor and knock sensor. The ported lower has a threaded hole for the air temp sensor on the right hand side and two threaded ports on the very below that feed the coolant passageway. My stock lower intake has a port for the air temp sensor, another right above it for the knock sensor and then a single threaded hole for the coolant passageway.
Are there subtle differences depending on the year and application? I know the lower intake for the 83-86 are completely different (inline ports) but what about the SVO or Merkur’s?
Also, does anyone know the thread size for the coolant passage hole? Going to order a fitting that has a hose barb to run the coolant line. Thanks!

Yes, there are small differences in the square lower intakes depending on application and year.
3/8" NPT is the size of most of the sensor and coolant and PCV ports so the one you're referencing is likely that size.

When swapping a motor from a turbocoupe into a NA Mustang which is the best intake to use, the Turbocoupe or the Mustang? Specifically 88 into 88 in my instance. There is different sensor usage and placement in both upper and lower intakes.

It doesn't really matter. Performance is the same. TC intake is shorter but if you're using the TC cam cover it's no problem. ACT sensor should be in 88 intake but in the airbox in the Mustang so I guess that's the only benefit to the TC intake.
