stinger im still confused about turbo ground wire. Do I need one in my 89 stang with la3? I followed your conversion.

Yes you do. Run a wire from the turbo compressor (cold side) to Pin 49. Pin 49 is currently grounded to the rear stud of the intake manifold on a stock '88-'90 2.3 wire harness. I ran mine from the compressor housing, through the firewall, and then tee'ed into Pin 49.

It's not a turbo ground, it's the 02 sensor ground. It makes the 02 sensor not read correctly if not grounded. You just need to make sure pin 49 is grounded and that the turbo exhaust side is grounded to the same ground location as pin 49.

Like Stinger says Pin 49 is grounded to the rear intake manifold to head bolt which has a stud on it. The wire is in the injector harness. That wire goes straight to Pin 49. If you have zero ohms from the HEGO sensor housing back to Pin 49 at ECU connector you are good. I ran a dedicated wire from turbo compressor, tee'd into Pin 49 at ECU harness, because someone suggested it was a good idea.
When the HEGO is not well grounded to Pin 49 the car won't run quite right and you won't know why because it won't throw a code.

these aren't HEGO's that would imply it is heated exhuaust gas oxygen sensor. the one wire sensor is not and not a great sensor. Just swap to a 4 wire and this won't be an issue
