Combo is as follows. Vehicle is a 1988 mustang notchback, T5 trans, Dynojet chassis dyno
E8 NA SJ block Hard Block filled, 2.5 Ranger crank, crower rods, CP pistons.
Early Dual plug head, Bo stage 1 port ( only BV and intake bowl work, runners are untouched) Bo 2.5 cam, upgraded springs
Custom home made intake manifold, 60mm TB
Custom Boport header. 1.25 EL thru ought to a t25 flange
EFR 7163 Turbo, IWG, T25 flange.
stock fuel rail, stock regulator, stock fuel lines, 1600cc injectors, 255HP pump hotwired
PimpXS stand alone. Sequential fuel, stock Mopar 4cly neon coil packs (2). Ranger CAM sync, OEM DIS crank sensor
Tread stone FMIC
Large oil cooler w/ thermostatic plate, as peace of mind for lack of coolant in block
3.5" to 3" exhaust out to the tailpipe with Borla muffler. Car is very quiet. i have a manual cutout, that i didn't open on the dyno
E85 fuel, 31#s of boost.
Combo made 501hp and 554 FT TQ on 31#s of boost trailing down a few PSI up top. I walked in with 385HP and didn't raise the peak boost and with cam and spark timing i picked up the rest. Cam is a hefty 8 deg retard, and i just kind of stopped there and didn't retard it anymore. I can make full boost @ about 2900 rpms so power is instant, i have had to turn boost down, in the lower rpms to combat compressor surge.
Car would of made decent power more with more boost but it slipped my mind my IWG rod was all the way out, turbo was only spinning 118k rpms. The compressor maps goes to about 150k. I have intentions to get boost up closer to 40. Im seeing around high 120s intake temps, on the dyno or even after multiple pulls on the street. Temps out of the turbo i have seen as high as 275deg.
Fuel pressure is dead linear as logged with boost @ 30psi. This further confirms my people upgrade fuel systems for no reason, and i will mock them Smile . Previously i have made closer to 40psi with holder fuel pressure, and this is on E85 (30% more fuel needed)
Goal is to turn the WG rod in to hold 31PSI (Pimp and EFR boost solenoid are controlling boost) and make passes, then turn it up at the track.
if you want to check out vids or pics of the car see my youtube or IG both are named "notch4u"
