i have no clue when it comes to brakes upgrading and interchangeability between stangs.....i have an 83 base model fox..was originally carb n/a 4 banger auto (ouch)......i'm not going for huge brembo's and stuff....also i want to keep the car 4 lug...could i just bolt on an 87 gt spindle/rotor/caliper? since the car has had an 8.8 swapped in already will i need another brake booster?.....also i read somewhere that the older fox 4 banger k members might be more narrow and the v8 spindle will cause a crazy offset... ???i'd imagine i could clear that up with CC plates but money is DEFINITELY a factor

If you are on a budget then the 87 and up 5.0 brakes are the best way to go, You should'nt have any offset issues the only real issue is if you are using the 4cly struts you may have to put spacer in the strut mounting ears as the V8 spindles have a narrower mounting ear. Or just replace the struts with V8 ones.

The Turbo Coupes also had 11" rotor/calipers/spindles. 4 lugs were used up til 86. I don't think you need a different valve...but not for certain on that. www.svomustang.blogspot.com

i have an 83 base model fox..was originally carb n/a 4 banger auto (ouch Hey! i was in the same boat! except i have an 84. anyway i got ahold of some 88 gt front spindles, front and rear shocks and 88 gt front calapers and put those suckers on there. i didnt touch the brake booster or any other brake component other then what was replaced and then lines. the lines where actualy my biggest hang up, you will need the 88 mustang rubber brake lines but the biggest problem i found with that is the hard line fitting for the 84 doesnt fit in the rubber line. and the rubber line also doesnt fit in the bracket in the fender to keep the rubber lines from moving all over the place. so what i did was barrowed a brake line flare kit and i cut the tip of the hard lines off to get the stock fittings off, the same guy i barrowed the flange kit from just happend to have the right fitting for the rubber lines. i went to the a auto shop and got 2 new ones and then i had to put the fittings on and double flare the lines. then there was the holding brackets for the hoses, all i did was take a good file and file off enough so that the line just fit in there and cliped it in place and done. then bleed the system and blah blah blah blah. iv done a 12.9 1/4 run at 106 and did have a problem stoping and it still has the same booster i had when i bought it.
