hey,
i just bought a 86 svo(all stock) and im new to the 2.3t. i also have a 85 gt with a carb, much less to think about. but i was wanting to get more out of my svo. i have been doing some research to try and understand what upgrades to do with the 2.3t. my thoughts are to first buy a FMIC and header from you guys, then a 255lph pump and boost sensitive regulator. also a manual boost controller. in the future i would like to buy a ported head and intake from bo-port. the things im not sure on is what to upgrade with the computer, air meter, and/or injectors. does this sound like a good way to start out and anything different i should do?
thanks cody

your regulator is all ready boost sensitive and good till about 280 -300. and I would start with the fuel pump and boost controller. once you know you have fuel you can crank up the boost. also make you have good tune up parts. for more info. www.turboford.net/faq/index.shtmldenz

well it looks like 255 lph pump, FMIC, header, 3" exhaust and boost controller to start! thanks for all the information guys. i think it should be a good base to start out with. im sure theres going to be many more questions for advice. let me know if i might have missed anything important. btw any recommendations on what muffler sounds good and works good? i was thinking 3" all the way out?
thanks again cody

Deff go with 3 inch all the way. you can get it from stinger. Strait threw muffler works the best for turbo. Make sure that pump is high pressure.

I use Magnaflow mufflers on all of my cars.

I have to jump in on this with a question. I am building this 84k mile 1986 trunk car. Putting the complete drive line in from an '88 TC. Using the Stinger header w/3 inch dp, HX35 turbo and hopefully a Ranger cam. At some point I will make the fuel system better to turn up the boost when feeling the need. We have the 3 inch Magnaflow also. My question is would putting the exhaust splitter from the TC and running it out the back with 2.5 duel exhaust hurt flow?

Yes, the factory system is restrictive compared to a mandrel bent system and high flow mufflers no matter how it's used.
