I just got the 3 inch downpipe for a 1988 turbo coupe and a stock elbow. People are saying that the flange that comes with the pipe bends. Is it recommended that I swap flanges from my stock downpipe?

The flange is 5/16" thick steel. If it's bending, they must be using a 1/2" drive air impact and over-torqueing the nuts.
There is no way to swap the stock flange onto a different downpipe unless you mean cut off and weld on.
We've been selling this downpipe for nearly 20 years and we've never once had someone say anything about a bent flange. That makes me question the validity of the (Facebook derived?) statement to begin with.
