I have a 1984 mustang svo completely stock. I have owned for a while but she's been sitting for almost 5 years since I got it and am now trying to get it running. When I got it, it did run and drive but had a bad break up going into boost. Didn't have time or funds then to diag/fix so it was parked. Had to move it a few years ago and started having issues. Sometimes running on 3cyl and other times being smooth 4cyl all at idle. It seemed like an injector issue (not firing/stuck closed) because when I'd smack an injector it began acting like it'd clear up for a bit then fall off again. I bought some brown top injectors and swapped them in. Along with cleaning out the tank and old gas I installed a kirbian afpr and threw a new msd ford style coil on it. Set my idle pressure to 38psi. Fired up and idled great...for a little bit then began running like it was on 3cyl again and randomly clearing up. All at idle. With light throttle it's acting like it's dropping a cylinder randomly and breaking up. I have good spark when this is happening (pulled wires from dizzy and each has nice spark) but my o2 sensor is reading real lean like it's cutting fuel. I am wanting to figure out what is happening and fix this issue before putting the pimpx ecu I have in. I know it's better to go into the ecu swap with knowing everything about the original setup was working properly so I'm not chasing an issue thats not related to an ecu issue. The harness is the stock 84 svo harness with some uninsulated wires but I've tested and checked each wire in the engine bay and they all are still intact and working. I really want to get this thing running again and am hoping someone here may be able to help me.
