Can the wideband that you sell be wired into a '97 Ranger's factory OBD2 ECU, do you know? And wired into that same gauge?

Yes, but the signal going to the ECU will be the "narrowband simulate" signal while the wideband signal will go to the ECU. So the ECU doesn't know anything different but you get the wideband AFR on the gauge.

Could you please explain the wiring? Ive got the Spartan 2 and its gauge. Sounds like you're saying this would replace the factory O2 sensor, is that right? Initially I thought it might connect to some unused ports.

The stock ECU has no idea what to do with a wideband signal as they didn't exist when that ECU was designed. So you either:
-Don't connect the wideband to the ECU at all, and retain the stock o2 while adding a second bung for the wideband/gauge.
-Use the wideband as a replacement for the stock o2 sensor (so you don't add a second bung) but have it output a signal that's the same as the stock o2 sensor for the ECU while still having the wideband gauge to view the AFR.
There is nothing unique about the wiring for this in either case. It just follows the Spartan 2 wiring info provided with the Spartan 2 (also downloadable from the Spartan 2 listing on our site). Power, grounds, wideband signal (for gauge), and if replacing the stock o2, narrowband simulate wire to the stock ECU's o2 signal wire. All of these wires are available at the stock o2 sensor connector.
