I bought a 92 with the turbo swap done with a 85 svo and la3 computer t3/t4 hybrid turbo, the guy couldn't get it to start. well it turned out the fuel pump was out, had an ignition ground and some small little problems so i fixed all of those.
Now i have the problem that when i started it up for the first time it started and ran for maybe 15-20 seconds then died, now it will start and then die after maybe 5 seconds, i have checked vacuum not that, it smells like gas and when it does run it is really rich.
I need some help i have had a few guys look at it and my whole family are mechanics so, i am at a lose
Thanks

Might want to check the timing mine was doing this couldn't figure out why because it ran the day before, ended up being the timing had jumped.

First step is always to scan for codes. I'd start there. It will say if there are any sensors not reading properly or not wires properly.

There are no codes showing up. It will stay running if you continue to give it gas but it is running so rich it smokes you out of the garage. I talked to the guy going to do my tune and he thinks it might be really out of timing but i cant set the timing if i cant keep it running.
I looked all the wires over and tested them and made sure everything is the same with stingers turbo swap for a 92 mustang,
Thanks

You need to check fuel pressure first of all. If it checks out ok (35psi +- 5psi) then you can move on to timing. You most certainly can set timing without the engine running. If you follow our cam timing and base timing guides from our tech articles page, you'll have directions on how to set it. This will get the cam timing perfect and the ignition timing will be 10 degrees retarded until you can advance it while running. That is close enough to run fine at idle if there are no other issues though.
