I thought he said hy40 but you would know more than I on these turbo makes and numbers. So I will go with your knowledge.
Not gonna lie, I know about boosting but much of my past,(as referenced in my sig.) is N/A big cube engines. The old no replacement for displacement mindset.

An HX40 supports nearly 700hp. I wouldn't run it on anything but an "all out" 2.3. Matt's got on on the Bolt-On car but it wouldn't have worked without all the airflow mods.

Ok so I have read the proven combos. Here is what I am doing to this car. It is going to be a driven car, but I want be able to to turn it up and have some fun at the track. The engine is a rebuild with about 40k on it. Don't know much about the rebuild but the guy is a jet mechanic and did some research. The head is ported, the intake gutted and the upper knife edged. Ranger roller cam, Stinger header, 3 inch exhaust, front mount i/c. Waste gate, turbo controller. What size turbo would you suggest? I'd love to see 300 some hp if this is possible

Well, the FAQ outlines some turbos for different hp ranges. To see over 300hp, you'll need to be willing and able to tune the ecu with a chip (or replace it with an aftermarket unit) so you can run larger fuel injectors and a better. The stock T3 is limited to about 300hp as well so above that, you'll be looking at a small hybrid or a holset hy35 or hx35. The last two options would be best served by a higher rpm cam since the turbo will spool at a higher rpm so you'll want to be able to rev to a higher max rpm.
